Situated on the western side of Seoul, Gimpo International Airport (GMP) is close to Incheon, Bucheon and Anyang, standing near to the western banks of the Han River.
Further afield, both Osan and Suweon are sited directly south.
Gimpo Airport can be reached easily from anywhere within the city by simply taking the ring road, known as the Toll Road 100, in the relevant direction before crossing the river and following the signposted route.
Directions to Gimpo International Airport (GMP) from the north of Seoul:
- Take the Toll Road 100 in a south-easterly direction to Chungiongiongo
- Take a right turn off the Toll Road 100 at the sign for the airport on a heading for Maporo
- After you pass Maporo, take a right turn and then simply follow the road
Directions to Gimpo International Airport (GMP) from the south of Seoul:
- Take the Toll Road 100 and head in a north-westerly direction to Seoul Station and then onto Chungiongiongo
- Take a left turn off the Toll Road 100 at the sign for the airport on a heading for Maporo
- Continue past Maporo, take a right turn and follow the road
Directions to Gimpo International Airport (GMP) from the east of Seoul:
- Take the Toll Road 100 and head in a north-westerly direction towards Toegyero
- From Toegyero, continue on the ring road to Seoul Station
- Once you reach Seoul Station, continue to Chungiongiongo
- From Chungiongiongo, take a right turn off the Toll Road 100 when you see the sign for the airport and for Maporo
- Continue past Maporo and take a right turn, following the road all the way to the terminal
Directions to Gimpo International Airport (GMP) from the west of Seoul:
- From Chungiongiongo, take a right turn off the Toll Road 100 on a heading for Maporo when you see the sign for the airport
- After Maporo, take a right and follow the signs, which are easy to spot
Traffic in Seoul can become congested during peak times of the day, so do take this into account when leaving for Gimpo Airport, to avoid rushing or being late.
